AUDUBON BIRD CALL natural wood - made in USA
North Kingstown, Rhode Island
Description
AUDUBON BIRD CALL natural wood - made in USA
The original Audubon Bird Call consists of a birchwood roller and a zinc plug. When twisted, this instrument will make a variety of sounds which attract wild birds. Each Audubon Bird Call is handmade and individually tuned. With reasonable care, and periodic re-application of rosin from the included capsule, the call will last a lifetime.
The Audubon Bird Call is a classic, simple birdwatcher's tool with a 60 year history. Invented by Roger Eddy in 1947, its success was immediate and its production ran parallel to Mr. Eddy's other accomplishments: four published novels, several terms in the Connecticut state legislature, and maintaining a successful produce farm outside of Hartford.
The Bird Call is made from cast zinc and birch wood in Rhode Island (the metal ring still reads "NEWINGTON CONN" in honor of the factory's original location). It doesn't mimic specific birdcalls but rather creates a tweeting noise that curious birds recognize and investigate.
American Bird Products is still owned and run by the Eddy family. With a little care and the occasional application of rosin, their Bird Call will last for years.

Un très bel objet fabriqué depuis fort longtemps dans le Rhode Island. Très astucieux et qui fonctionne parfaitement... les oiseaux en redemandent. L'emballage est joli et très bien conçu également. What else ? Ce modèle en bouleau très sobre est magnifique.
